A lawyer once asked Jesus, “Which is the greatest commandment?” To which Jesus replied, “Love the Lord with all your heart…And the second is like it, love your neighbor as yourself.” Two things immediately come to mind. First, Jesus isn’t talking about the organ that beats in our chest. So, what does he mean when he talks about our “heart?” Second, why does loving Jesus with all my heart lead to loving our neighbors?
We may just find that putting our hearts on the line opens the door to the faith that’s well worth our time.
